Selena even teaches partners to “catch” the baby because they believe babies should be born into the world to meet the family that will love them not a provider.

My name is Mikaela Engarde and I am a Christian wife, mother and holistic doula. I have been a birth worker for 7.5 years and an apprenticing student midwife for 1.5 years.
After experiencing first-hand the effects of giving birth in a system that is failing moms and babies, I found the value and worth of doula work.
The heart of my support is giving women and families the tools and support they need to experience an empowering pregnancy, birth and postpartum period.

I have been supporting women in childbirth since my first birth as a doula in 1998. I became a Certified Professional Midwife, CPM, in 2016 after years of schooling and apprenticeship. I am also a RN, herbalist, doula trainer, childbirth educator, NARM midwifery preceptor, and mother of five. I have had the privilege of assisting many different women, families and communities during during their journey to motherhood. I also offer Birth Trauma Transformation (BTT) services

My journey to midwifery was inspired by my father's story of being born ”too soon and too small” in Nigeria and witnessing the many disparities Black birthing women faced in inner-city communities within the US. After studying abroad in India, and volunteering in Haiti, I was deeply moved by the challenges midwives faced in underresourced nations, which sparked my passion to become a midwife. Dedicated to making an impact and change, I feel greatly honored to serve my community as a midwife.

Hello, My Beautiful people, my name is Sha'la, I am a perinatal/ postpartum doula. I have been a special ed educator for the last 7 years. I am a mother to a 9-year-old handsome little boy who I call my miracle baby. After the long road I endured from being diagnosed with PCOS, to infertility, and praying hard I was finally able to conceive my rainbow baby. I always have been passionate about helping others and I honestly believe this is my calling from GOD.
