Angie Danek, founder of Empowered Holistic Birth LLC
Angie has been attending births in the Pittsburgh area since 2011. Through her years of having and raising her 4 children, she experienced 7 miscarriages and secondary infertility, those experiences led her to a deeper understanding of autoimmune disease and the importance of healing the body on a deeper level. After several years working toward healing her microbiome, she delivered her 4th child at home. She is a birth, bereavement, lactation, postpartum and childbirth education specialist.

Selena is a traditional midwife supporting low risk families who are seeking a home birth. Their passion is educating clients and their families so that they feel empowered and confident making the decisions about birth. Selena even teaches partners to “catch” the baby because they believe babies should be born into the world to meet the family that will love them not a provider.

I have been supporting women in childbirth since my first birth as a doula in 1998. I became a Certified Professional Midwife, CPM, in 2016 after years of schooling and apprenticeship. I am also a RN, herbalist, doula trainer, childbirth educator and mother of five. I have had the privilege of assisting many different women, families and communities during during their journey to motherhood.
