My name is Sheneala Smith. I am a devoted mother of 2 who loves the summer and being outside. Some of my hobbies are cooking, camping, event and scavenger hunt planning for family and friends. I became interested in becoming a doula through my own birth experiences and the shared birth experiences of family and friends. Through these experiences I was able to witnessing the positive effect that a doula has on a birth experience and I to want help create positive, empowered birth experiences.

I am from Brazil and I live in Pittsburgh since 2012. I became a doula, childbirth educator and lactation counselor to guide and support families who are also immigrants adapting to a new culture and rebuilding a support network while navigating the healthcare system. I speak Portuguese, Spanish and English fluently, and some Irish as well. I love being part of a community that relies on each other to create a good experience for parents while birthing a new generation with kindness and respect.

Hello! My name is Emily and I am from North Carolina. I moved to Pittsburgh in 2010 for graduate school and fell in love with the city and decided to stay. In addition to being a PP doula, I am a mental health therapist who specializes in perinatal mental health, as well as trauma, anxiety, and depression. I work with all communities including blended families, polyamorous couples/families and self identified members of the LGBTQ+ community.

My name is Angela Starosta and I'm a doula, IBCLC Lactation Consultant, and lactation and childbirth educator. I’m passionate about pre-emptively combatting negative birth and lactation experiences with knowledge, support, advocacy, and empowerment.
Jessie Stone
Hi! My name is Jessie, and I have been a birth doula since 2019. For most of that time, I have worked with the Pittsburgh-based group Blessed Arrivals. I live in the Stanton Heights neighborhood of Pittsburgh with my husband, two dogs, and a bird.
I am located very close to The Midwife Center, Magee, and West Penn, but also have attended births at Wexford and Jefferson. I love working with all families, but especially first time parents.

Ever since I attended a doula-led birth class while pregnant with my own first child, I've been ignited with a passion to support and educate women through this transformative season.
